LEADERSHIP STYLES AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Each individual person typically has their own leadership style and communication skills that they have developed over the years. If they are used to being autocratic and controlling situations, it will be difficult for them to transfer into democratic or laissez-faire leadership styles even though the situation may call for it. Being able to adapt the way we communicate to different situations will be vital to success in social and work situations. This workshop will use interactive games that all students will participate in to focus on the 3 leadership styles listed above and how best to apply them to our lives.

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the difference between 1-way and 2-way communication
  • Recognize the unique leadership styles that people use
  • Learn to use all three leadership styles we will discuss in the proper situations
