ARTICLES ABOUT DAVID! :)THE MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER Since this site opened up August 2004, I have been featured in several magazines and newspapers. For my television interviews, please visit my Video Clips page. The first was in the speakers section of the monthly OSAID newsletter. I was also interviewed for the Toronto based youth magazine, "180". To check out the article, feel free to head to the 180 Site. After my speech for "Take Your Kids to Work Day", the McMaster Daily News wrote a terrific article for their daily paper. Rideau District High School's Feeder Schools also had a short write up about their trip to the High School to hear me speak. The Buckeye Key Extra, a monthly newsletter by the Ohio Key Club wrote about SLAM, the Student Leadership Magazine available exclusively here at Motivate Yourself in the November Edition of their Newsletter. The Press Republican, a daily newspaper in Northeastern New York wrote an article about the Essex County Youth Leadership Conference and featured highlights from my speech to the students. The Brampton Guardian, a daily newspaper in Brampton, Ontario wrote an article about the Central Ontario Leadership Seminar's Brampton Chapter's PLAY Day with a brief (very brief) mention of my closing speech. Three years after I first appeared in 180, another article was written, updating the reading audience on my life as a Motivational Speaker and how I have progressed since my last interview. On the heels of the 180 article listed above, the Canadian Jewish News published a very similar article. This article was my first Nationally published story. During a Speaking Tour in Pennsylvania, the York Daily Record wrote about my day at Susquehannock High School. This article was my first in an American daily paper. After a visit in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, the Nipawin Journal had a very brief write-up of my talk. My latest article came from the E-Board during another trip to Saskatchewan, this time for Wellness Day in Paradise Hill. THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP ADVOCATE Recently, the City of Vaughan implemented a new plan to create a Vaughan Youth Councillor position. I was asked to give my "expert" testimony regarding youth involvement on two seperate occasions. Check out my positive affirmation for youth involvement at these links: THE STUDENT TRUSTEE From 1998-1999 I had the privilege of serving as the 8th Student Trustee for the York Region District School Board. At the time, York Region was one of the first School Boards across Canada to implement such a progressive position for students. During my term I had the dubious task of dealing with a teacher strike. The importance of the strike brought a great deal of media attention to my position and I am pleased to present a sample of the articles I was interviewed in at the following link: |
